Some things cannot be rushed. Understanding who you are, what you carry and what you truly want from your relationship with horses takes time, space, slowing down, reconnection and the right environment.

This retreat is exclusively for you. Four days away from your everyday life, without your usual roles and responsibilities, so that what you carry can finally be looked at directly instead of managed around. What you bring home afterward is what changes your connection and partnership with your horse.

Perhaps you feel that something is missing between you and your horse but you can't quite name it. Maybe you sense your horse is responding to something in you such as your tension, doubt, or insecurity and you don't know how to shift it. You have tried more lessons, more techniques, and different trainers but the challenge you are facing has nothing to do with technique. I invite you to come and stay as a gift to yourself and your horse. Here there is space and guidance to find what's really going on, and to set a clear way forward.

The Echo of Pegasus Retreat takes place from Thursday - Monday at La Petite Forge, a beautifully restored historic forge in a small village in France. Private accommodation surrounded by forests, birdsong and open countryside, with me as your neighbour. There is time and space for you so you can reflect, journal, relax or meditate and there is time we spend together.

This is an entirely private, one-to-one experience: no group, no shared schedule, no dividing attention between other guests. Just you, the work, and the space to go deep, in a programme built entirely around what you need.

A deep dive beyond technique

Four private days in France to understand yourself more clearly, see your horse for who they truly are, and leave with a clear, practical plan for an improved partnership.

The Programme
Thursday — Arrive and settle in
You arrive at La Petite Forge, rest after your journey and share an evening meal with me. Together we will talk through the days ahead, your intentions and what you are hoping to discover.

Friday — Knowing yourself
Drawing on the philosophy of Carl Jung, we explore who you are and how you see the world. What do you bring to your time with horses? What are you looking for? What are your dreams? The afternoon includes a walk in the forest followed by time at the stables for groundwork or lungeing with Ra'ad, my schoolmaster horse. The day includes an introduction to Reiki principles.

Saturday — Knowing your horse
Today the focus shifts to your horse, as you describe them, and what you notice together. We explore how horses experience the world, where their strengths lie and how personality shapes a partnership. Together we map where you and your horse complement each other and where the gaps are. The afternoon is a walk by the lake and Reiki Level I training.

Sunday — Making a plan
We map the specific challenges you face with and without your horse and create a practical, easy-to-follow plan for moving forward. The afternoon includes hands-on time with my schoolmaster horse, putting the insights of the previous days into practice. We will wrap up the Reiki Level I training with treatment of an animal.

Monday — Leaving equipped
The final morning brings the retreat to a close. You leave with a Reiki Level I certificate, a clear personal plan, new skills and a deeper understanding of yourself and your relationship with horses.

There will be times when standing alone feels too hard, too scary, and we’ll doubt our ability to make our way through the uncertainty. Someone, somewhere, will say, ‘Don’t do it. You don’t have what it takes to survive the wilderness.’ This is when you reach deep into your wild heart and remind yourself, ‘I am the wilderness'. - Brene Brown
